Mahlon Dickerson Reservation, New Jersey

Is important to know that there is no camping available in the Virginia district.
Everglades National Park, Florida
It is the largest subtropical wilderness in the US. The funniest thing about this place is that provides habitat for rare and endangered species like a manatee, American crocodile and Florida panther. Backcountry camping is open. The campers must register in person. It is not a good idea going to camp in Summers here, because the weather is hot and mosquitoes are plentiful. Winter is the best season for camping. Reservations are not accepted. You have to obtain the backcountry permits.
Everglades is also home to representative flora from both climes. The most known species are bromeliads and epiphytic orchids.
Acadia National Park, Maine
It is home of the highest mountain on the East Coast. Backcountry camping is available but also there is the Blackwoods campground that is located 5 miles south of Bar Harbor. It has 306 campsites. You don’t have to make reservations but it is recommended to do it if you are going during peak season (May through October). The ocean is just 10 minutes away from the campground. It counts with a picnic table at campfire ring.

If you want to take a break and just relax, this is the perfect place for you. It is called “The American Spa” where you can soak yourself. Which offers different campgrounds and one of them is the Gulpha Gorge. It doesn’t work with reservations. All sites have 30 and 50 amps electric, water and sewer connections. You can hike in groups around the park. But it doesn’t have a variety of activities, just to relax.
